Shivali Kapoor, a fully trained, SRA Regulated Solicitor and STEP member from Wilson Browne, based on Peacock Lane, Leicester, will be on hand to answer your questions in confidence. If you wish, she will also take your instructions for writing your will at a promotional discounted rate, and discuss what other measures you can take to protect your assets. She will also explain the benefits, and how easy it is, to leave a gift to charity in your will.

Shivali explains: “Making a will is a great opportunity for you to determine who will benefit from your property and possessions in the event of your death. It allows you to put your affairs in order and leave clear instructions to assist the loved ones that you leave behind. Wilson Browne Solicitors have teamed up with Leicester’s Hospitals to provide support for our local community when it comes to making these important decisions.”

Leicester Hospitals Charity will be around on the day if anyone wants to know more about charity, how to donate, what they spend the donations on and how gifts left in wills are so important to them.

To book your free 30 minute advice slot, please call Marie Hough at Leicester Hospitals Charity on 0116 258 4065 and mention that you are booking as part of the Legal Surgery Event.

This is the first time Leicester Hospitals Charity have undertaken such an event.  Marie Hough, Admin & Legacy Manager for the charity, said: “We rely on the generous gifts we receive from gifts left in wills. On average, nearly a third of our fundraising income comes from legacies. This event in partnership with Wilson Browne Solicitors is a great way of promoting how essential it is to have an up-to-date will and to highlight the importance of the gifts some of the generous people of Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland and beyond leave to us. We were delighted when Shivali offered to put on the legal surgery for us. Wilson Browne have been a great support.

“Gifts left to us, large or small are very special. They can benefit specific departments or areas in our hospitals to support better care for future generations in Leicestershire and Rutland in accordance with the testator’s wishes. They can change things for the better, buy new equipment or make an environment just that little bit more welcoming.”

“There is no obligation to leave money to Leicester Hospitals Charity but we hope you might consider a charitable donation if you are able.”
