Who will look after me whilst I am in the Radiotherapy Department?

We have a variety of healthcare professionals who work alongside one another to provide the care our patients require. Our patients will most frequently see our team of therapeutic radiographers, who are the professionals that deliver the treatment, supported by our radiotherapy assistants.

Our radiotherapy physics team includes radiotherapy dosimetrists who plan the treatment and medical physicists and engineers, who ensure that the machines are delivering accurate treatments and that the treatment plans are correct.

Other healthcare professionals you might meet include:

• Oncologists (doctors who specialise in cancer and its treatments)
• Oncology nurses/ Clinical Nurse Specialists
• Dietitians
• Speech and language therapists
• Radiotherapy assistants
