Billy’s House (Nottingham)
Billy’s House is a home from home for families of children with cancer made possible by a major fund raising effort led by parents. It is run by CLIC Sargent and is offered to all families making long journeys (more than 45 minutes) when their child is having treatment. Billy’s House offers self-catering accommodation close to the hospital. If your child is well enough then they may stay there too. There are six bedrooms, some with en-suite facilities, and all have bed linen provided. There are two kitchens, a number of washing machines, tumble driers and irons as well as a seating area, teenager’s room, TVs, books and indoor and outdoor play facilities. Siblings, grandparents and friends are welcome to stay at the home providing there is a spare bed available in the families’ room. The home is run on a daily needs basis so rooms may not be pre-booked. All referrals for use of this service are made directly through the CLIC Sargent team. Please ask a member of the ward team for further information.
