Film on Hickman lines and ports

Most children and young people with cancer will need chemotherapy treatment and central lines (Hickman line or Port) allows for easy administration. Within the East Midlands Children’s and Young Persons’ Integrated Cancer Service, in both Leicester and Nottingham, we are able to offer both types of central line, depending on the diagnosis and treatment plan.  We are delighted to have this film, designed by parents for parents, to help explain a bit more about them. With the help of some of our families, to whom we are extremely grateful for agreeing to be filmed, you can see these lines and how children live with them at home.
