Limb Reconstruction

We undertake the full range of limb reconstruction surgery for adults and children. Our consultants are experienced in the use of Ilizarov and Taylor Spatial Frames. Many of the cases undertaken are referrals from surrounding hospitals and we provide follow up and a dedicated clinic service.

Patients treated by us include those who have recently suffered severe limb injuries not amenable to surgery by other means. We also deal with complications arising from injuries such as infection. Most of our young limb reconstruction patients have deformities as a result of injuries or underlying congenital conditions.

We carry out pin site care after an operation and we are keen for patients to help with this. Our clinic and ward nurses are trained in pin site care and we often use the community nurses to assist us with this so that patients can be treated in or close to home.
