Gynaecology

Gynaecology is the study and treatment of diseases of the female reproductive system (uterus, vagina and ovaries).

The main conditions dealt with by gynaecologists are:

  • Amenorrhea (absent menstrual periods) 

  • Cancer and pre-cancerous diseases of the reproductive organs

  • Dysmenorrhoea (painful menstrual periods)

  • Incontinence of urine

  • Infections

  • Infertility

  • Menorrhagia (heavy menstrual periods)

  • Prolapse of pelvic organs
