The Paediatric Hearing Services department assesses the hearing of children up to 16yrs old. The clinics are staffed by audiologists. The service runs in two parts: the diagnostics (hearing tests) and habilitiation (hearing aids) clinics. We are based at Hearing Services, Leicester Royal Infirmary, although we do run clinics at various locations.

We aim to see all children for their initial appointment within 6 weeks of receiving the referral unless requested otherwise by the referrer. It is important that you attend all appointments as poor hearing can delay your child's development. Please note that if you are unable to attend a hearing test appointment, but do not let us know in advance, you may not be offered another appointment without a referral. If you do not attend a hearing aid appointment, your child will be offered another appointment but you may need to wait several weeks for this.

An interpreter can be provided for appointments if required, please let us know in advance so this can be arranged.
