Dr Patrick Wheeler

Dr Wheeler is a Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine. He trained in Leicester and has been a GP Principal locally.  He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine of the United Kingdom and the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine of Ireland, and a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners.   He is a Senior Clinical Fellow (Senior Lecturer) at the University of Bath and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Loughborough.

He specialises in the non-operative management of a broad range musculoskeletal disorders including ultrasound assessment and new injection therapies. He has held a number of national roles within the specialty.   He works for a third of his week with elite sport through his roles with the English Institute of Sport, British Triathlon, Disability Target Shooting GB and Paralympics GB. He has a wide range of current research interests.
