Pioneering patient care

We work to improve patient care through our research programmes and we are at the forefront of many clinical trials and new surgical procedures.

For example, our surgeons pioneered keyhole surgery for kidney patients and microwave interventions for treating liver cancer.

Lab and test materials
We are committed to research and innovation to improve patient care. At any one time there are around 900 research projects active in the Trust, ranging from small local projects to international programmes involving different hospitals and research centres throughout the world.
