Nursing and midwifery education

Nursing and midwifery training for Leicester Hospitals is provided by the two universities – School of Allied Health Professions, University of Leicester (UoL) and School of Nursing and Midwifery at DeMontfort University (DMU).

The University of Leicester offers unique, undergraduate MSci courses in nursing and midwifery with leadership as a key component running throughout the programme.  Developed in partnership with University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and Leicestershire Partnership Trust we educate and train high quality, proficient nurses and midwives who can deliver expert care and have potential to become innovative leaders in their field.

DeMontfort University’s School of Nursing and Midwifery has over 50 years’ experience in delivering high-quality professional education.

These courses are professionally accredited, approved or highly commended by the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council  (NMC) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for effective partnership with trust colleagues, and excellent work around the patient and public involvement; ensuring our graduates qualify with a relevant and recognised qualification.
