Research facilities

A nurse welcomes you to our research facilities
A warm welcome to our research facilities

We host the NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), which we run in partnership with the Universities of Leicester and Loughborough and is one of only 20 BRCs in the country.

We also have an NIHR Clinical Research Facility, an NIHR Patient Recruitment Centre, the Leicester Diabetes Centre, the University of Leicester-British Heart Foundation Cardiovascular Research Centre, National Centre for Drug Adherence Testing and the NIHR/CRUK Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre – all of which are partnerships with the University of Leicester. In addition, we have a dedicated Research Space at Leicester Royal Infirmary, and the Hope Cancer Trials Centre for early phase clinical trials, which is supported by local charity, Hope Against Cancer.

Not all of our research teams have a dedicated research facility as they work in clinical areas with patients.
