Before you start your own research project

UHL Libraries and Information Services offer a range of tools for your research. We can provide comprehensive literature searches to underpin your project, or give you the skills to search the biomedical literature databases yourselves. Our training sessions are available to book or we can offer convenient 1:1 sessions to suit you. We are also able to supply the articles that you need via our document supply service.

Writing up your results

Once you are nearing completion of your project we can also assist with our “Writing for Publication” course, which aims to empower you to write academically.

Sharing your findings

When the work is published, you can submit it to the East Midlands Evidence Repository (EMER). EMER is the official institutional research repository for Derbyshire Community Health Services, Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire CCG, Nottinghamshire Healthcare, Sherwood Forest Hospitals, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

EMER is intended to make NHS research more visible and discoverable by capturing, storing and preserving the East Midlands research output and making it available to the research community through open access protocols. You can search EMER here

When your work is published, we would appreciate you sending us the author’s preprint version to be hosted in full text on EMER, if copyright allows.
