Equality and diversity information we collect

Annual Report and Accounts 2018 - 2019

We are required as part of our Public Sector Equality Duty to collect information on our workforce and patients to demonstrate how we are providing services that are free from discrimination and to also demonstrate how we are meeting the general and specific aims of the Public Sector Equality Duty 2010. We collect information on the following protected characteristics;

  • Ethnicity
  • Disability
  • Sex
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Age
  • Religion and Belief
  • Gender re-assignment
  • Pregnancy and Maternity
  •  Marriage and Civil Partnership status

This applies to people who work and use Leicester hospitals. We do this to make sure that patients are getting the most out of health services and where they are not we make changes. We also want to know that the people who work at the Trust are representative of the local population and that University Hospitals Leicester is a good and fair employer. Please see the reports and data section to see the types of equality and diversity information and reports that we publish.

Our Patient Experience Team collect data through the Friends and Family Test (FFT). The information has been broken down into different protected characteristics and you can find the data from the link below.
