What facilities does Research Space have?

Our space themed Children’s Research Facility officially opened in June 2017.

Research Space is a bright and welcoming place, designed for children and young people. We have some amazing facilities and equipment to help make your visit as comfortable as possible:

A large open-plan waiting area, with modern seating
Games, toys and entertainment facilities
An interactive floor projection system to play on whilst waiting
Sensory colour changing lighting tube and infinity tunnel in the consent room
A 3D distraction unit (called the VPOD)
Dedicated research staff and play specialists
Space themed art work
Free Wi-Fi courtesy of WIFI Spark

How to get to Research Space

Research Space is located in Balmoral Level 0 at Leicester Royal Infirmary. It is close to the Restaurant, Cashier's Office, and Maxillo Facial Department.

Reaching Out for Kids Research Appeal

The Children's Research Team were very busy fundraising to make Research Space an extra special place. The Reaching Out for Kids Research Appeal raised over £33,000 with support from Leicester Hospitals Charity, as well as groups and individual fundraisers.We are extremely thankful to all those who have helped.
