Kindness campaign 2024 - part three

Kindness campaign stories part 3
Waqas

Waqas' story

I am a physiotherapist. I support patients who have had hip, knee or spinal surgeries and help them get home promptly.

I love seeing how my work gets patients stronger and more independent.

A patient became aggressive, shouting at me when I phoned them to provide information about their care plan.

It affects your confidence.

I want to help you. Treat me with respect and kindness.

Tara

Tara's story

I am a catering assistant. I serve food and coffee in the hospital restaurant.

I have worked here for 20 years and love working with my team.

Some customers get impatient and make unpleasant comments when it is busy and they are waiting for their drinks.

Be patient and kind.  We do our best to serve you as quickly as possible.

Hamzah

Hamzah's story

I am a porter. I help replace linens to wards in the hospitals.

No two days are the same, and I enjoy seeing different faces in the corridors.

A delivery driver was aggressive towards me because I didn’t use the cages he offloaded. He glared at me. I felt angry but I tried not to show it.

We are great people here and we take pride in our jobs. Respect us.
