COVID-19 - Confirmation of patient deaths

Last updated 12/08/20

“Over recent weeks we have seen a downward trend both in the number of patients presenting with symptoms of COVID-19 and the number of COVID-19 deaths at our hospitals.

“Whilst this is welcome news, in line with national guidance, we are preparing for a potential increase in cases of COVID-19 this winter and continue to ensure that people can safely access our services at the point of need both now and through the winter months. We urge local people to remain vigilant and continue to adhere to government and local guidance. This remains vitally important to help prevent the spread of infection.

“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the 438 people who have lost their lives to COVID-19 in our hospitals during what has been an incredibly difficult and distressing time.”
