Changes to GP requested blood tests

From Monday 3 April 2023, patients attending our hospitals for a blood test/s requested by their GP will need to book an appointment.

The new process will improve patient experience and reduce waiting times during busy periods. People attending UHL outpatient appointments and who require a blood test will not be required to pre-book their appointment.

To book a slot, patients should email: bookingcentre@uhl-tr.nhs.uk or call 0300 303 1563 with the following information:

• Name and date of birth
• GP details
• Preferred site to attend (Leicester Royal Infirmary, Glenfield Hospital or Leicester General Hospital)
• Preferred date/time

Unfortunately, we will be unable to do your blood test if you attend without an appointment from this date.
