Sue Carr - Director of Medical Education

Professor Sue Carr graduated from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and has worked as a Consultant Nephrologist in Leicester since 1995. She completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Education at the University of Nottingham in 2005.

Clinically, she has ongoing interests in renal transplant care, education to improve acute kidney injury outcomes and renal disease in pregnancy.

She is the Director of Medical Education & an Associate Medical Director of the hospital and an Honorary Professor of Medical Education at the University of Leicester.

She is a Fellow of the UK Academy of Medical Educators and has held several  National  and Regional roles in medical education including: Chair of the UK Renal Association Education and Training committee and  Foundation School Director & Associate Postgraduate Dean in the East Midlands Deanery. 

In education: research interests include: assessment of quality in medical education and the use of educational interventions to improve patient safety.
