Rob Davies

Mr Robert Davies is a senior consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon at the Leicester Vascular Institute, part of UHL. As Clinical Director for the Renal, Respiratory and Cardiovascular (RRCV) clinical management group, he and his team oversee a workforce of more than 2,000 colleagues.

Recognised as a national authority in peripheral arterial disease, Rob has a sub-specialist clinical focus on vascular conditions affecting the lower limbs. He has advanced the minimally invasive treatment of complex aortoiliac steno-occlusive disease through his work on the CERAB (covered endovascular reconstruction of aortic bifurcation) technique. He spearheaded the establishment of the Leicester Vascular Limb Salvage Service, which is recognised as a national exemplar and has been adopted as a model by numerous trusts across the UK. Additionally, he pioneered the creation of the Vascular Limb Salvage Academy.

In 2011, Rob was admitted to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and received a scholarship from the British Society of Endovascular Therapists, which facilitated his advanced post-certification training in complex lower limb endovascular therapies. He was appointed as a consultant in 2012. He is also an honorary senior lecturer in medical education at the University of Leicester.

Rob maintains an active research portfolio in both clinical and educational domains, being a successful co-applicant in several high-value grant applications. He regularly presents at national and international conferences and is widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals. His contributions continue to advance the field of vascular surgery and medical education.
