Challenging Leadership Opportunities at Leicester's Hospitals 

This is an exciting time for Leicester’s Hospitals.  We are embarking on our most ambitious change project to date with over £320 million investment and a bold five-year forward view that is at the leading edge of integration across the health economy. 

With almost 12,000 staff serving over one million patients every year, we are a complex and diverse organisation.  We are the NHS' largest provider of acute care with the largest single site emergency department.  We have a vision that requires transformational change at scale to ensure we deliver the very highest standards of quality care. The challenge is to ensure that more care is delivered closer to home through community provision, supported by new ways of working and sophisticated technological intervention.  This will allow us to focus our attention on becoming an increasingly tertiary and specialised centre delivering high-quality care from a smaller and more efficient estate, whilst continuing to focus on developing our reputation and capacity for teaching and research.

To deliver change at this pace and scale we need the brightest and best minds available.  We need individuals who can translate strategy into deliverable plans for change, whilst ensuring that through the transformational process we do not lose sight of the business as usual imperatives of quality, safety and financial balance.  This will not only require sophisticated analytical, business planning and service improvement skills, but also the ability the engage our whole workforce in change and improvement.

Our Trust Board and senior leadership team are committed to building an experienced management infrastructure with these qualities.  We as such are investing in a number of transformational and operational leadership roles to enhance the Trust's skill set in delivery of change.  These posts will be advertised through NHS Jobs in the forthcoming months.   We are looking to attract experienced leaders who have a track record in working across organisational boundaries with a complex range of stakeholders to design and implement change with a strong focus on quality and financial integrity.
