Where do we advertise opportunities?
All of our jobs are advertised on our dedicated recruitment website, https://www.your-future.co.uk/stakeholder/university-hospitals-of-leicester/
Vacancies are then automatically notified to Universal Jobmatch (Job Centre Plus) and posted on NHS Jobs website.
How do I make an application?
Having logged into NHS Jobs and searched by employer to University Hospitals of Leicester you can review all of our vacancies.
From here you can select a specific role you are interested in and review the job description and person specification to work out whether you are suitably qualified, experienced or skilled to do the job
If you meet the essential criteria and you are interested in applying then complete an on line application form
You will then have the option to register and your original application will be saved enabling you to reapply for other posts, appropriately amending to suit the job role
In completing your application it is important that you outline how you meet the person specification.
What sorts of things do you look for in an application?
You need to review the person specification for the role and make sure that, as a minimum, you can show how you meet the essential criteria.
This will mean showing all of the relevant qualifications or identifying your experiences if specific ones are essential.
In the additional information you have the opportunity to describe more fully how you meet the requirements of the job, remember we want to employ people who will work to our Trust values and deliver Caring at its Best.
What happens once my application is received?
A panel will ‘shortlist’ the applications received, identifying who meets at least the essential criteria and, if we have large numbers of applications, we will use the desirable criteria.
If you are successfully shortlisted, you will receive confirmation via NHS Jobs and will be able to login and book a suitable interview slot.
You will need to bring some specific documents to any interview in order that we can carry out a number of pre employment checks.
If I am successful at interview what happens next?
You will be sent a conditional offer letter and a number of pre employment checks will be undertaken such as:
-
Occupational health
-
Disclosure and Barring Service checks where required (you will need to complete an on line application for this)
-
Rights to work
-
Qualifications
- References
- Employment History
- Verification of ID
