I am pleased to welcome you to the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and hope you will find your employment with us both rewarding and beneficial to your career development.
Our aim is to ensure that you have a smooth transition into your new role as an integral member of the Trust’s staff.
As an employee of University Hospitals of Leicester you are required to be aware of and to follow Trust polices which are available on INsite, our staff intranet. You should familiarise yourself with these once you have commenced in post.
If you are new to the Trust you will also be invited to attend the Trust Induction, followed by a local induction within your service which will provide you with important information about working for us.
These web pages will provide you with essential information and quick links. I would encourage you to view these prior to commencing employment with us as they provide information on key actions you should take prior to and within the first month of your employment with us.
Over recent years we have worked to ensure there is appropriate balance between training and educational needs for trainees and the needs of the services we provide to our patients. We recognise that there will continue to be further local and national changes which may impact on working lives of junior doctors. To ensure we can properly respond to your views and when required represent them at a national level, we are keen to ensure effective two-way communication with you. In particular we hope that you will be able to get involved with the Trust’s Listening in Action project and the Trust Junior Doctors in Training Committee.
During your time in post, if you need further information or have any questions, please discuss them with your consultant supervisor. Your key administrative contact at the Trust will be your Junior Doctors’ Administrator who will be happy to help with administrative queries, and/or guide you in the right direction for any further information you may need.
