Doctors Corporate Induction

Upon commencement you may be required to attend the Corporate Junior Doctor Induction.  If so you will receive confirmation of this by the Recruitment Services Medical Team.

At the event you will:

• Be welcomed to UHL

• Be provided with essential information

• Complete any necessary payroll forms

• Receive testing to ensure that you have access to all relevant IT systems

The schedule of events is as follows:

• The Thursday before the first Wednesday of each August (FY1 specific Induction) at Leicester Tigers, Aylestone Road, Leicester LE2 7TR                                                                                                                                                                                           

• The first Wednesday of each August at Leicester Tigers, Caterpillar Stand, Aylestone Road, Leicester LE2 7TR                                                                                                                                                                                                            

• The first Wednesday of each December at the Clinical Education Centre, Level 2, Jarvis Building, Leicester Royal Infirmary, LE1 5WW                                                                                                                                                        

• The first Wednesday of each April at the Clinical Education Centre, Level 2, Jarvis Building, Leicester Royal Infirmary, LE1 5WW

Service Induction

Information covered will include:

• Your duty rota and rota template                                                                                                                                                                                                     
• Information on applying for annual leave and study leave                                                                                                                                                             
• Clear guidance on the responsibility of the clinical role                                                                                                                                                          
• Clinical and Educational Supervisor details                                                                                                                                                                          
• Details of your departmental structure                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             
• A physical tour of the department                                                                                                                                                                                                                
• Introduction to safety critical equipment required for a new starter to function on-call immediately                                             
• Information on local teaching and attendance standards                                                                                                                                                      
• Access to UHL IT systems                                                                                                                                                                                                    
• Local infection control                                                                                                                                                                                                          
• Access to local clinical guidelines and policies                                                                                                                                                                
• Mechanisms by which any doctor can raise concerns: DATIX, 3636 line, etc.
