Bus travel

Leicester buses arrive and depart from the Haymarket Bus Station at the Haymarket Shopping Centre and St. Margaret's Bus Station in Gravel Street, or from the many city centre stops. Both bus stations are about 15 minutes walk from the railway station and a 10 minutes walk away from St Nicholas Circle. 

The hospital hopper stops at the train station and St Nicholas Circle.

There is a free bus service loops the City Centre and serving Haymarket Bus Station, Highcross, Jubilee Square, Leicester Royal Infirmary, Railway Station and the Market. The HOP

The Enderby Park and Ride comes straight to the Leicester Royal Infirmary, the other Park and Ride Services link in with the Hop. Leicester Park and Ride.

Flexi Tickets:

If you are travelling on more than one bus company in Leicester, you will find our multi-operator Flexi tickets be ideal for your travel needs.  Adult day tickets are £5 and adult week tickets are £19.50.  More information about the full range of Flexi tickets can be found here:https://www.leicesterbuses.co.uk/multi-operator-ticketing

These tickets are valid for travel on Arriva Midlands, Centrebus, First, Kinchbus & Stagecoach buses in the Leicester Flexi Area.  

Tap on Tap off

A new quick and easy way to pay when you travel.  Simply “tap on” your contactless card or phone (with Google or Apple Pay enabled) on the ticket machine when you board the bus and “tap off” on the Tap off Reader when you alight, and your fare will automatically be calculated and capped.  It’s as easy as that!  No need to worry about having the correct change or having to buy a ticket upfront.  Simply ‘tap on’ and ‘tap off’ as you travel.

No matter how many trips you make and which bus company* you travel with, your fare will be capped at a maximum of £5 for a day or £19.50 for a week.
