Chapels and prayer rooms

Patients and visitors are welcome to use the chapels and prayer rooms to be found across all of the hospitals. 

They can be used for personal prayer or meditation and hold regular services for people of different faiths. 

The hospital chapels and prayer rooms are open to be used by those of any faith or none.


Glenfield Hospital

There is a small Chapel opposite Ward 28 on the first floor.

The Prayer Room is near the intensive care units on the first floor.

Services and Prayers:  

 Tuesday 7:30pm     Hindu Prayers in the Prayer Room
 Friday lunchtime       Muslim Prayers in the Prayer Room - Juma Khutba followed by Salaat 
 Sunday 10:30am    Weekly Christian Communion Service in the Physio Gym



Leicester General Hospital

The Chapel and Prayer Room are off the main hospital corridor near Ward 15.

Services and Prayers:  

 Wednesday 7:30pm     Hindu  Prayers in the Prayer Room
 Friday lunchtime       Muslim Prayers in the Chapel - Juma Khutba followed by Salaat                  
 Sunday 10:30am    Monthly Christian Communion Service in the Chapel
 


Leicester Royal Infirmary

The Interim Chapel next to the lifts, level 0 in the Balmoral building, and is signposted from near the Royal Restaurant.  There are also Prayer Rooms with Wudhu facilities. 

The Chapel and Prayer Rooms are open at all times.

The Old St Luke's Chapel at Leicester Royal Infirmary was demolished in February 2015 to make way for the new Accident & Emergency Department.  However, you can take a virtual tour of the Chapel by clicking here or on the image below:
