Interpretation service

Young patient with nurse explaining

There are many different languages spoken by people living in Leicestershire.  It is vital when going to hospital that patients and staff are able to understand each other.

If you are coming to hospital as a patient and your first language is not English, or you use sign language, please let the clinic, ward or department know before your appointment or admission. This helps us arrange appropriate translation or interpretation services in advance.

We are always interested in hearing your views and comments around equality. If you have any feedback, suggestions, or concerns related to equality, diversity, or inclusion, the Equality Team would like to hear from you.
