Interpretation service

Young patient with nurse explaining

There are many different languages spoken by people living in Leicestershire.  It is vital when going to hospital that patients
and staff are able to understand each other.

If you are coming to hospital as a patient and your first language isn't English, or you use sign language, please let the clinic, ward or department know in advance.  This will allow us to make arrangements for translation and interpretation services to be provided.

The Equality Team are always interested in hearing your views and comments around equality issues.  If you want to share your thoughts you can contact the Equality Team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust,  via email equality@uhl-tr.nhs.uk.
