Clostridium difficile

Clostridium difficile (often known as CDT) is a germ that lives in the gut of many people. Generally it doesn't cause a problem and we are not aware it is there, but sometimes,  particularly after we have had antibiotics or other medicines that alters the balance of bacteria living in the gut it can cause diarrhoea
